Hello,
My name is Rick Blanchard and I am an Assistive Technology Professional / Certified Rehabilitation Technology Supplier. What is an ATP/CRTS? An ATP/CRTS is a specialist who provides enabling technology in the areas of wheeled mobility, seating, alternative positioning, ambulation assistance, environmental control, augmented communication and/or activities of daily living. I am a member of the National Registry of Rehabilitation Suppliers (NRRTS) and Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) and I am employed by Mobility Excellence Inc.
Here at Mobility Excellence we sell durable medical equipment and offer consumers/patients choices along with pricing and funding information. Mobility Excellence also meets basic standards of acceptable practice in the provision of equipment including: ordering, assembly, adjusting, delivering and providing ongoing support and service to meet individual's rehabilitation needs.
Consumers/patients receive assistive rehabilitation technology equipment and services through various models. These models, some of which may employ a multidisciplinary team approach, include: medical, educational, vocational rehab/employment, independent living and consumer/patient. The clinical team and I work in concert in choosing the correct products as they relate to the need for, and application of, enabling technology:
a. gross musculoskeletal anatomy;
b. normal and abnormal neurodevelopment;
c. neuromuscular abnormalities;
d. disabling conditions and disease processes;
e. secondary complications to long term disability; and
f. bio mechanical principles, concepts and applications.We participate directly in the assessment process by:
a. gathering and interpreting information;
b. offering solution options considering both current and long term needs;
c. providing equipment for simulation and clinical trials when required;
d. discussing funding options such as Med i-Cal, Medicare and private insurance.We combine equipment and components from various sources to create solutions to meet the specific consumers needs. I also perform fitting(s) and delivery as deemed appropriate by the clinical team or as required by the consumer and provide:
a. instruction in the safe use of the equipment;
b. information on maintenance/care of the equipment and pass on the manufacturers warranty information;
c. support the equipment supplied with timely and high quality service.As a consumer/patient you will be assured of the highest quality of rehabilitation technology equipment and services. I know the range of products available on the market in the specialty of assistive technology and will provide accurate information regarding equipment choices and funding.
As a consumer/patient you can be confident you will receive the most cost effective options available to meet the goals and objectives specified for the Assistive Technology equipment. You will also receive information about the equipment provisions process and know that I will voluntarily abide by all applicable federal and local laws.
